2/Lt in Okinawa
Owen Humphrys is standing as an independent Candidate for the South Cotswolds. Owen has previously campaigned to save the Upper Thames valley when he was chairman of Marston Meysey Parish Meeting in 1990s.
In 2005, he financed a battlebus in Scotland to save the Regiments from amalgamation by Blair, Brown and Hoon (Labour).
Owen joined the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) in November 1971. This was his maternal grandfather’s regiment. He spent four summers serving in Northern Ireland.
Later, in the 1980’s, he served in the old Territorial Army, first in the Artists’ Rifles in London - and in Germany, USA, Belgium and Denmark, completing 50 parachute jumps - and then with the Royal Wessex Yeomanry in Cirencester.
